(This) book will appeal to users of all levels. As well as covering the basics, there is a great section on extending Ultradev. The real power behind the product lies in its extensibility. I personally would consider myself an advanced ASP/Ultradev user and found this section particularly enlightening. Also of interest to me was the Cold Fusion section. Since Macromedia have now merged with Allaire, I suspect there will be even closer integration between Ultradev and Cold Fusion in the future.

Having used Ultradev Extensively since it's release and being a full time web developer, I would consider myself to be an advanced user of Ultradev. I bought this book, because being a regular on the Macromedia Ultradev Forum, I know how much Ray and co. actually know their stuff. I, along with many others bought this book in good faith rather than on recommendation, and for £30 I don't think you could get much more. It starts off with the basics, setting up your software etc, and by the time I looked through to the end of the book, it had started loosing me in some places. So, no matter what level you are with Ultradev, make sure this is the one book you buy. It'll fill in many gaps! You won't regret it. It's got over 80 pages on the Ultradev shopping cart!! I have had this book for one week and it really is COMPLETE! Not only does it cover ASP, JSP, and Cold Fusion with all of their different scripting languages and tags, not only does it take you through a complete, complex (not a dopey "Hello World!") project, but it even SHOWS you how to do everything with a slick demo-like tutorial! If you are a visual thinker, like me, this is invaluable. I was barely even using UltraDev because I didn't know about all of this other stuff. Everything is explained, including how to make your own extensions! Believe me, you aren't going to find all of this information anywhere else. If you want to know the true power of UltraDev, this book is a must have...Unlike most books, you aren't left hanging with code that doesn't work or ridiculous, incomplete examples that you have no idea how to expand upon. This is my 3rd ultradev book and this one is at the top of my list for truly helping me better understand the program, asp, database and sql. I started in Ch 24 cause that is where I needed immediate help with my site but I intend to go back and delve into the remainder of the book this week. Without getting too analytical and detailed...
